The Bachelor in Informatics Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Software and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.


Mission

The Professional School of Informatics Engineering forms professionals characterized by their leadership, autonomy, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit in the fields of Modeling and Simulation of Intelligent Systems, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems and Internet of Things, for their preparation with a solid scientific, technical and humanistic base; aspects that make them globally competitive in research and in the permanent search for better technological solutions, which are economically viable and socially responsible for the benefit of the country.

Vision

By the year 2024, the Professional School of Informatics Engineering will achieve a high position in society in the areas of Modeling and Simulation of Intelligent Systems, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems and Internet of Things, due to the excellence of its faculty, students and graduates, in addition to the permanent practice of civic values and its projection at national and international level.


Program Educational Objectives

Within a few years after graduation, Ricardo Palma University Informatic Engineering graduates will:

EO1. Technical Competence

Demonstrates solid technical competence in the production and management of software and computer systems applying design, development and maintenance of inclusive solutions to complex problems of society. 

EO2. Versatility and Adaptability.

Performs efficiently at different levels and roles of an engineering project and adapts to changes required to achieve objectives.

EO3. Leadership.

Communicates and participates proactively in engineering projects and progressively assumes leadership roles in multidisciplinary teams.

EO4. Professionalism.

Performs his profession with integrity and ethics, respecting technical, legal, cultural and environmental standards in all types of undertakings.

EO5. Permanent Updating

Permanently update their competencies to assimilate the advances of the profession in order to broaden and strengthen them through self-learning, specialization or postgraduate studies.


Student Outcomes

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
